  • spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers spoilers Congrats to Troy and Dan on reaching the MLB7 World Series. The Padres destroyed Jered Weaver on their way to a 4-2 win. A possible turning point was in G2. With the Braves two up the Padres were down to...

  • Very cryptic Troy. Have you already started the new approach - I honestly can't tell ;-) Marc p.s. before anyone draws the wrong conclusion, Troy's Athletics have been above my Rangers ever since I took them over - although the gap is now very small. • Felt like Christmas came early for my MLB teams - certainly for the teams in the senior week. MLB1 - 71-37 - week 12 9-0 Doused any remaining Red Sox hopes with a clinical week - just 49 hits allowed. Closed to within two wins of the Orioles. We are currently 1-5 against Baltimore and the first of two more series is this week. We also face the Indians in a tough week. Still faffing...

  • > craig wrote > The turn where you can rename came about soon after I started playing GPBB, and I made use of it quite extensively as I wanted the roster to match "real life". I didn't realise at the time that players have a proper history in GPBB (unlike GP football where players don't take their names with them when they are waived) and I think it was a mistake in hindsight to...

  • MLB1 - 62-37 - week 11 7-2 A comfortable week where everyone, with the exception of some in the bullpen, performed well enough. Drabek bagged 3 wins despite fatigue issues. Following wins over the Phillies and Dodgers last week we seem to have recovered from "restgate" in week 9, but we are still slowly losing ground to the Orioles. It was a good week for the Dodgers with 8 wins, 4...

  • :-) I assume that is a reference to your MLB8 Pirates ? I'm not sure there are many downsides to winning games - slight batting fatigue and various financial effects come to mind. Most of the effects are good and will definitely help on the Form. Minimising fatigue can also be good, even it means you lose some games, as long as you put that low fatigue to good use - i.e. go on to...

  • MLB3 Diamondbacks - 52-20 - wk8 4-5 A rough week as our great start to the season is in danger of fizzling out. Losses in St Louis and, even worse, at home to the Phillies has lead to some head scratching. 2B Jake Lamb has been moved back to AAA after showing some promise in the majors (but not enough promise to trouble the judges awarding the Form). MLB6 Angels - wk20 4-2 win over...

  • Just noticed that there is a 8* rookie catcher on the FA list with 17 potential (shows you how much notice I take sometimes). Since the Braves have Bethancourt I'm pretty sure he is not as valuable to the Braves as he is to other teams. Equally the Padres have recently signed Jin-De Jhang from the Pirates and, in what might be purely a postseason based move, the released Cordero...

  • MLB1 - 35-19 week 6 With Nick Swisher on the FA list and an injury to Danny Lee, young third baseman Miguel Andujar got to see some game time. All was going well until G9 when a couple of errors in the third inning contributed towards 7 unearned runs in a thrashing by the White Sox. The Orioles opened a small gap with an 8-1 week, and they in turn saw the Indians pass them with a...
