  • Well Bob it's been a while since I last made it to the Club and I hope this will be the beginning of my return... watch this space.. Had a great session with just 5 of us playing Fire and Axe (Viking Saga) which took a little longer than I expected but was a great game with plenty of theme, and a touch of "take that". This is a game that will definitely take a few plays to capture...

  • Just to support Bob, If you looking to play any style of Board Game then LBGC is the place to be, Bob is a fantastic host and the variety and experience of gaming at this club is great. It's just sad that I have not been able to attend for some time, my loss indeed. --- In lbgc@^$1, "Founder." wrote: > > As all you attenders know, we play a wide variety of games at our > sessions...

  • Neil, just catching up with all the posts. Do they have a price on this as it would be great as a mobile home also. By the way Starcraft is a lovely little game.... or big game should that be. --- In lbgc@^$1, "Neil Parker" wrote: > > > I have four of the big games, but not Starcraft - maybe a bit of a > luxury then as i will waste space [;)] > > http://www.fantasyflightgames.com...

  • Well my first suggestion would be a team based game called Duel of Ages, its always fascinated me playing Ghengas Khan and carrying a laser rifle and trying to complete a variety of tournaments. The wonderful part of this game is you can coordinate your strategy, with some players defending and blocking the opponent while the others make a mad dash to steal the points. However not...

  • Indonesia is a game that needs to be introduced at the club however it needs someone who has a good grasp on the rules (Start reading Stuart). Its a shame GW has again stopped the development of Talisman. Now thats a game I would like to see FFG develop, good old roll and move beer & pretzel game. • A. Never played: 1. Republic of Rome (enjoy long games) 2. Road & Boats 3. Starcraft 4. Age of Empires III 5. Imperial B. Oldies: 1. Escape from Colditz (This is such an old classic that needs to be updated, maybe a good challenge for the LBGC) 2. Cosmic Encounter 3. Dune 4. Talisman (2nd or 4th Editions)

  • Hi Bob, I think this is a great idea and one that I would very much like to see happen. Keeping the league games we play to a minimum is the only way to make sure that each games gets a good amount of sessions per year. Also maybe keep the timeframe for any game in this league within 3 hours which offers flexibility within the LBGC sessions. Just so you know I voted on Perikles...

  • Hi Marty, Yes this is my second year at TCAD. The event was brilliant and far better than last year, all credit to Sue and Nick. It's probably the best Board Games Convention in the UK even including the new Games Expo. Everyone was welcoming as always and even if you attended the event on your own groups would grab you for a game. Will be posting a full review with extensive...
