Hi again. Thought this might be useful to forward to various people.
SLM Action Alert!
Keep Our Marshes Open and Green!
Save Leyton Marshes from Council plans for housing development!
We are writing to you with an urgent call for action to save Leyton Marshes.
Waltham Forest Council has launched a consultation for the 'Lee Valley Eastside' which involves re-zoning the large swathe of green space adjacent to the Waterworks Centre and Nature Reserve, for housing.
This land is part of Leyton Marshes and is Metropolitan Open Land, protected land which should mean it is safe from all development.
What can you do to make sure this land is protected? Sign this petition by a local resident here
Please then share it with all your friends!
Come along to our next meeting where we will plan our campaign - Monday 9th January at 7.30pm at Princess of Wales pub, 146 Lea Bridge Road. All welcome!
Support our campaign by buying our latest merchandise - new to the Shop are sustainably produced greetings cards featuring Waterworks wildlife: http://www. saveleamarshes.org.uk/Shop. html
Obviously the more signatures we get on our petition, the more powerful our campaign will be, so please do sign: https://you.38degrees. org.uk/petitions/stop-the- council-s-plan-to-build-on- leyton-marshes
