A support/discussion group for people who have suffered damage by radiotherapy treatment for cancer. This is often termed late radiation damage, as it becomes evident some time after radiotherapy has finished. The transient side effects most people get will probably have subsided.
It is indicated by a variety of symptoms according to where the radiotherapy was required. If abdominal or pelvic radiotherapy was required, it may have caused bowel damage, and is sometimes termed radiation enteritis. Bones may also be weakened wherever radiation was applied, be it pelvic or in the chest/neck, or elsewhere.
Damage occurs far more frequently than is commonly realised, even by doctors.
